G'day from Strictly Literary Australia:
It's time for some of the big thoughts about the literary way of life to be posted and that's exactly what's going to engage this blog ... plus some random stuff about science, the universe and what's going on in our world ... so fasten your seat belts ...!

Science, the universe etc? Mate I don't know if you have noticed, but where you live the world has gone beserk. Not only are we rushing towards the cliff like the lemmings, we are doing it at an increasing rate.
Peak oil is not a theory. It is a fact. Why spent 86% of our transport infrastucture money on roads?
Climate change is not just a theory either. What causes it? Burning fossil fuels. What is the worst thing we can do? Burn coal. What do we do? We export more coal than anyone else in the world. Not content with that we are increasing our exports at a frenetic rate. Some may challenge my figure on transport so yes, I agree, we are spending money on heavy rail. This is to get more coal to the ports.
What happened with water in SE Qld was predicted in 1993. We were run over by the tortoise.
In the 1960's and 1970's we protested in the streets. Now we blog. Is his progress? Dunno. You tell me.
